Benefits - Religious diversity

In today’s multi-cultural, multi-faith society, quiet rooms for prayer and relaxation are much in demand in the workplace. In a workforce in which differences need to be respected, bridges need to be built, the provision of a prayer room can do just that.

In December 2003, the Employment Equality (Religion or Belief) Regulations made it unlawful to discriminate against workers because of religion or similar belief. Providing suitable premises for mandatory prayers for some employees fulfils this regulation and embraces their diversity.

Respecting, understanding and celebrating diversity within the workplace creates opportunities for business: there is much evidence to show that diverse staff and client profiles lead to increased sales and improved customer service.
